Dimensions of Dartmouth for ED Student

Would you advise an ED admit to attend Dimensions? I have been invited, but I believe Dartmouth will not reimburse my flight as I was admitted via Early Decision (rather than RD).

Since flying to Hanover will be expensive (especially because I’ll be booking the flight only 2-3 weeks in advance), I am not too sure Dimensions will be “worth” the cost. I would really love to go, however.

Also, I have NEVER visited campus. Would my first visit to Dartmouth be more meaningful if it was during Dimensions or my first-year DOC trip?

Thank you!

My two cents is that it is not worth the expense you would incur to attend Dimensions, since you are already committed. It is a tool to convince the RD students to choose Dartmouth (two out of three of the students admitted regular decision will go somewhere else). My advice is to pick a G or H session first-year trip. That gives you some time on campus after your trip and before orientation to get fully settled in, plus you will have a new group of friends to wander around with (a shmob).

In case you don’t already know, the Dartmouth Coach runs frequent service from Logan Airport for $38 one way: https://dartmouthcoach.com/stop/boston-logan-international-airport/

@SlowLorises Very true. Thank you for your opinion!
