Dining + FinAid = ???

<p>This may sound like a stupid question but here goes. How do I go about signing up for the dining contract? Do I just pick one of the plans and the University picks up the tab? Do I pay first and then get a reimbursement from UVa? What if I only have partial FA for the dining plan? Do I pay the total amount up front or get reimbursed later? Or do I pay only what I am required to pay upfront? I am really starting to get confused about the whole process in general. Can anyone shed some light?</p>

<p>When signing up for the meal plan you select what you like and it is added to your bill. You don't have to pay when you add to the cart and check out.</p>

<p>Having said that, I highly recommend calling the finance office to speak about your particular case. I called in to talk about incoming scholarship money and I learned that there are hidden caveats. For example if the scholarship provider doesn't stipulate no restrictions on how the money is applied, the university assumes restrictions. The other strange thing was that the lady I spoke to could not tell me specifically how much tuition was per semester. </p>
