Dire Situation

So hopefully, some seniors can relate to the particular situation I am in. I regrettably took AP Calculus this year and received a failing grade this semester. I literally just received an acceptance letter today from CU Boulder which is my number one choice. The rest of my senior grades are C-B's which I'm not too worried about but this class is really freaking me out.

Another thing to consider is that I was on the borderline of admission, I really screwed up Sophomore year but bumped my grades to a decent GPA. My ACT and SAT scores weren't spectacular but decent enough.

Boulder isn't the most selective with admissions so I'm praying that it won't really affect my admission. Any thoughts please?

Lastly, I already finished 4 units of math because I was able to take pre-cal in the summer so I will still meet the requirements.

I think you will be fine, just make sure you get a decent grade next semester. It is always better to go up then down.

An F is a kiss of death, even for a less selective flagship like Boulder. Is that your 1st quarter grade or will that go onto your midyear report? Can you still drop with a W? Can you bring it up to a C+ by the time your counselor sends the midyear report in February?

I think you’ll be fine. Like MYOS1634 said as long as your grade wasn’t an F or D I don’t think Boulder will take you admission away. But if you can bring your grades up next semester you’ll be in good shape. I know some people that started slacking after getting accepted into college.
