Hi everyone,
So a lot of the colleges I'm applying for require a midyear report. That was all fine and dandy for me a couple of months ago during first quarter grades, when I was getting A's in everything and a B in Calculus, but now it has been a living nightmare.
My Calc. Teacher just showed us our midyear exams, which I bombed...hard. I am not a good test taker but have managed to keep B's in math for the past four years and A's in practically everything else. I got a D on my exam--dropping my grade also down to a D. I'm not quite sure if first quarter will also average out with second quarter, if it does I might fly by with a C, but so far its a D.
My teacher does not teach. He's been "sick", has been absent a lot of days to visit the doctors, and when he is in class, he sits down, asks us to copy notes off the board and asks us to start the homework. Like the board is suppose to teach us. I just moved to this school for senior year, and it has just been horrendous. Not to mention that he teaches both AP calc and regular Calc at the same time IN the same classroom. Two completely different curriculums! Tried a tutor and that doesn't seem to be working out smoothly either.
My top 2 schools are Stanford and Tufts and I am incredibly scared this D will completely put me out of the running. What should I do?
