Discount for extended housing

Okay, so I'm dying to know if I will have just one roommate, or if I'll have 2 or 3. The reslife web site says there is a 15% discount on the room charge if you are put in a triple or quad. Sooo, if my account has the normal room charge on it, can I assume I'm in a regular double room? Or, does res life just credit you back the discount later? It would be good to know, because I heard if you're in a triple or quad, you can't bring much of anything on move in day.

You can’t assume that yet. If you confirmed housing relatively early, chances are that you’ll be in a double. IF you are in a triple, the credit would post after you’ve already got your housing notification.

Thanks, astro. Do you have office hours so I can drop in for advising, LOL. You’re very helpful!

If your FALL RM CH is about $2800, then you’re in a double. If its around $2400, then your in a triple or quad. Its weird because I got a triple freshman year and I found out my housing arrangement near the end of the summer (like everyone else). However, my room charge was always ~$2400, so they had already planned on me having a triple or quad since the middle of July.

Both Ds were in triples their freshman (and sophomore years–sophomore at Language House=bigger rooms at least)… there were adjustments to their bills giving credits for the triples even into September. YMMV.
