Is there an abnormally large percentage of Asians at Rice compared to other top-tier schools/ivies? Or is it pretty consistent with the other schools?

From the stats I’ve seen it’s somewhere around the 15% to 17% rate.

I though it was around 25-30% of the student body were Asians

I feel like probably a lower percent asian, and a larger percent hispanic. Then again, this is just a guess, I haven’t taken the time to look up any stats.

Why are you asking?

It doesn’t matter. It is just a question…

The statistics are pretty easy to find:

[Future Owls](<a href=“Office of Admission | Rice University”>Office of Admission | Rice University)

Even 30% of the student body being Asians wouldn’t make it less diverse. You’re gonna be seeing at least 50% white people anyway.

Except it’s not 50% white people, it’s 39% according to the link ScienceGirlMom posted above

Well, 39% is still more than the percentage of Asians required for non-Asians to think it wasn’t diverse anymore.
