Diversity?

Hi, guys. I am a korean student who is admitted for class of 2010. I am very attracted to this school, however I have a concern about diversity at Davidson. From what I know, I heard that there are not many asians. Not that I want to hang out with my own race, but its good to have somebody from same culture. I was wondering to current davidson student if there is any Korean student currrently enrolling at Davidson. If there is, can I get an E-mail address? Thank you so much!!!

I think you would do better to get in touch directly with the college to make this query.

i'm not korean but i'm from colombia. i was admitted and will be attending :)

get in touch with the college. but i think that you should just wing it. if you don't necessarily "want to hang out with my own race," just wait for your housing and then just explore. i'm sure you'll find some koreans.

College lists 3 Korean students accepted along with one Taiwan and one from China. That appears to be the asian population accepted for class of '10

I am assuming that you got that information out of the Davidsonian...while the college may have only accepted three kids from Korea, that does not mean they are the only Korean students accepted. I was at Davidson last week and I was hanging out with 6 accepted asian students, and there were many more. Davidson is taking an active role in becoming more diverse, so I don't think that it will create an issue.

The college is really doing a fantastic job to increase diversity. No one on campus hangs out exclusively with members of his/her own race; I don't think you'll have a problem with that. There are so many different people here, and everyone's passionate about something. It all makes for a really great environment :)
