Do AP courses matter?

Well of course they matter, but here's the thing: my school offers 10 AP courses, 5 in which I don't technically 'qualify' (AP studio art, AP comp sciences, AP Micro E, AP design port, and AP French) leaving me with AP Eng Lit, AP Eng Lang, AP Physics, AP Chem, and AP Calc. Due to some complications, I won't be taking AP Physics leaving me with AP Eng Lit, AP Eng Lang, AP Chem, and AP Calc.

But the 2 AP courses aren't even transferable to JHU. I'm currently taking AP Eng Lit right now to make myself seem a bit more 'competitive' but it's bringing me down and I'm considering dropping it. And I'm not sure if I even want to take AP Eng Lang considering how much I hate Eng Lit right now.

So that leaves me with only 2 AP courses. Out of 10. Won't this look super bad?
On the offside though, I might self-study Bio and Psych. Would this make it up for my lack of AP courses? (I have a feeling not taking AP Physics is gonna hit me hard but my average was like 50% when I dropped it and I'm getting an A in regular Physics so...
