Do college care about a grade in a phys. ed class?

In PE at my school, we are graded on how fast we can run a mile. In my freshman year, I just couldn't make the times and ended up with a B both semesters. However, I've received an A or A+ in every class since then (including PE both semesters my sophomore year). Are these two B's going to affect me at all?

No

No. See: http://www.possibilityu.com/how-calculate-your-“real”-high-school-gpa

Haha no, I think you’re safe unless their short on athletes this year  They care more about your brain and potential for success than how fast you can run a mile.

Kinda. Though most schools do calculate the GPA as they see fit (excluding certain classes, some just grades 10-11) your full transcript is submitted. Also your school probably uses your over-all GPA for your class rank which is important to some selective schools. That said - if you have to choose a class to get a C in, PE would be it.

My schools doesn’t do rank, only deciles. I’m in the top decile.

I’ve heard admissions officers address this exact question and the answer seems to be along the lines of that they don’t care a whole lot about your gym grade. B’s in gym won’t hurt you but if you consistently get say D’s in gym they may start to wonder if you just don’t make any effort at things you aren’t interested in and that could be a negative.
