<p>When College Board introduced the writing section of the SAT (2400) I believe colleges did not factor it in for admission purposes and just used the 1600 scale to calculate the Academic Index. Do you know if colleges have now started using the writing section? And, if so, which ones?</p>
<p>Yes, many use it. I would say that most do and the question would be which ones do not. You can check the websites of the individual schools you are interested in to determine their policy.</p>
<p>Almost all do. I think some colleges do care slightly more about math and reading though.</p>
