If a college says that it will take the January SAT (for seniors), does that mean that they take the January SAT equally or will they frown on you for taking it because the score gets in so late, even if you have a big improvement?

Because the January SAT is well after the deadline and IMO many colleges (especially top ones) will wonder why you took so long to take the SAT and/or took so long to get a good score on the SAT.

Bump please. Thanks for the advice, but I would like a few more opinions. Feel free to ask me questions if you have them. I don’t know how helpful I will be, but I will try :)

I agree with the opinions above. Colleges accept the January SAT (and even the February ACT) to provide you with ample opportunity to showcase your academic skills. An SAT in January of your senior holds just as much weight as one taken earlier. In fact, taking the Jan SAT for RD admissions is fairly common. I am taking a couple more SAT IIs in January.

^Usually the score reports are not due until February or March for RD admissions. The College Board websites gives the deadlines in each school profile.
