Hey guys,
just wondering. do colleges really care between an A- and an A?

Sure. Not much. I had a number of A-'s and still got into Harvard.

If you get the best grades you can, there's no need to strategize and figure out whether Harvard will care. What's important is that you do as well as you can in a class (and, hopefully, that you learn something).

hey man,
thanks for the advice. lets say i got a b sumtime in my highschool career. should i kiss harvard goodbye?

no, not at all.

Of course not. I actually got two B's freshman year. I made up for it with really good grades later on (and a 1600 SAT score), but it certainly didn't disqualify me.

I doubt it would make any difference... many high schools don't have +/- grades as final grades anyway so they won't even have that level of refinement on many people's transcripts.
