Do colleges value reading score in ACT significantly?

So, I did horribly, I mean HORRIBLY in the reading section.
My composite score is 32 (single sitting), with the section scores of E34, R20(…), M36 and S36. This yields 36 in STEM score. I know, my reading is REALLY horrible.
But, my TOEFL reading score was 29/30, which I hope will compensate for the horrible ACT test. I took the ACT multiple times but everytime I got 20~22 on reading as I did not have enough time.
Do you think it will harm me badly in college admission decision?

Since you mentioned TOEFL, I’m guessing that you are either an international applicant or a recent immigrant. Colleges understand the difficulties many applicants who learn English as a second language face when taking standardized tests.

I would recommend trying out the SAT, which gives more time during the reading sections, but if you don’t have the opportunity to take it there’s not too much use worrying about your scores anyways. If you really want to compensate, I recommend looking into the SAT Literature Subject Test.
