Do Econ/Accounting Majors have to take the math placement exam?

So that's my question.

I would assume so, since regular Econ & Econ/Math majors do. It wasn’t even that hard. =)

the exam is basically algebra and trig. thats it, and you can google the answers

[Placement Exams](http://www.sa.ucsb.edu/orientation/FreshmanOrientation/PlacementExams.aspx)

According to the site above, Econ majors DO have to take the placement exam, but if they receive a score of 2 or higher on the AP Calculus exam, they are exempt.

it says there is a suggested time…but is it actually timed? im in Econ/Accounting as well.

i’m still kinda confused because i emailed this person here : sheryl@math.ucsb.edu asking if i needed to take the math placement test and she said “only if you plan to take math 3A in the fall.” Also, according to [Mathematics Placement Examinations](http://www.math.ucsb.edu/ugrad/placement.php) the calc placement test is not required for those planning on taking Math 3A.

just take it, it takes 20 minutes and its joke easy
