i have 3 W's for this spring semester ... 1 one of them is by accident, i dropped the class too late, i never even attented, and it sucks but nothing i can do about it, the other one is for a class that doesnt transfer....

Anyhow, is that going to look awfuL? can they reject my admission for that? or can they like admit me and then reject me because of it?

Has anyone actually been admitted and then rejected for reasons like that?

i dont know about anywhere else, but berkeley doesn't care. i dropped with like 2-3 W's my spring semester, and i have 5 in all. and i got into berkeley

wait... what about if we drop 1 or 2 courses and receive Ws in this Spring 2006 prior to transfer to Fall 2006.
Will they revoke our admisions even they have accepted us?

similar situation also. i just started on my major history. needed to finish 3 prereq class by the time i transfer next fall 2006. several weeks into te class i realiazed it didnt really interest me as much as i thought. iit was only 2 classes, 1 i was able to drop easily with no penalty but the ther one i'll end up with a W. so now i prefer to change my major since its early on. problem i have is i got provisional admissions to the school for fall 2006, but they need additional transcripts from the sring and summer 2006 semsters. i plan to take summer classes, but dont have any spring classes. how wil this affect my admission , if at all? thanks for your help

w's don't really make a difference, there is some percentage that makes them excess, but i can't remember what. also, I heard it was a good thing to go back and finish the class with a passing grade. I had one W, forgot to drop in time, and later went back and passed it. No biggie though, it wasn't a required class.

Rly723, it depends on the policy of the school you applied. but for most if not all California public colleges/universities, you can't finish any of the igetc requirements or major prereqs in the summer before fall enrollment. especially if you stated on the app that you would complete in the spring term. unfortunately, that makes them a condition of your enrollment and they have to be finished by spring and all final transcripts received by like july.

keep in mind, if these are just filler classes that dont count toward your major, igetc, unit req., etc. it is okay to drop.

then they can deny you admission. but, you have to confirm with the school, perhaps the other classes you have finished fulfill the requirements.

that idk, igetc completed and most of the requirements done seems to be the most desired. becasue everyone can complete the igetc, but some schools do not offer all major requirements. def. doesn't seem like a huge deal, contact admissions and ask, it's better to know rather than worry about not getting in.

thanks for the help. i dont think GE/IGETC will be much of an issue since its already completed. The reason i dropped those classes is because if i dont plan to take history and change my major whats the point of taking classes i wont need. My only concern is not taking classes this spring and not being able to send them a spring 2006 transcript. worried that they'll revoke my admissions due to this, even though i plan to take classesi n the summer

yeah i'm transferring at upper division status as a junior, i have over 70-80 units. yeah i just put history as my major because most of their other majors were impacted. i dont think it could be that difficult to change it, at least i hope not

In some schools admission is contingent upon the completion of all the classes that you were enrolled in at the time of application. In that sense a W while your application is pending is not the same as any previous Ws and could be detrimental. I suggest you check.
