Do financial aid requests suggest admission?

I received a couple requests for needed financial info for a few of my RD schools - if they're looking at my financial aid status, does that mean that they're considering me for admission?

Not really. If you applied for financial aid, they will need your tax returns, and that’s probably why they’re contacting you.

They had my tax returns. They wanted me to fill out an additional form.

All the same, the FA office has to work in parallel with the admissions office. If FA waited around to work only on the applications of admitted students, colleges wouldn’t be able to inform accepted applicants about their FA packages with (or sometimes very shortly after) their admissions decisions, and then students wouldn’t be able to make fully informed choices by May 1.

I’ve been receiving financial aid office messages too lately. I know these requests are not suppose to indicate anything and basically they want everyone to have sent everything they needed to regardless of decision. However, my message is regarding a small error on my tax returns that can only be noticed if they read the whole thing. Which means, the message is taylored directly at me? Does this indicate anything? I HOPE NOT. Or the next week and a half will be absolutely torture as no message=rejection and message=acceptance from each and every school (the mistake should be noticed by all if they read it)…ugh.
