Do guys really use shower caddies?

GUYS: What do you all use to bring you’re stuff to the shower? Is it acceptable to buy a shower caddy? Or do most guys just use a plastic bag?

Not a guy, but I see no shame in having a shower caddy. A moldy plastic bag, on the other hand…

I’d recommend the shower caddy, or at least a proper container

My son uses a “shaving kit” container that is rugged canvas and waterproof. Similar to the link. You have to ask for the dorm shops at Bed, bath and Beyond.

My S used something like this:

As do I, although many guys do use caddies.

Literally everyone on my floor used a caddy, boy and girl.

So glad you asked this because we have no clue what to get our son.

This is what my son used and his quad mates used something similar - it hangs on the door hook.

Shower caddies are gender neutral, it’s okay to get one lol

I like dopp kits and the ll bean hanging thing for travel, but for day in, day out use, the caddy is the most practical. Easy to clean and rinse out any crud that builds up with daily use. Many have holes on the bottom to aid in drainage.

My son was in a college program last summer. He used a 1 quart paint pail similar to this:
http://www.homedepot.com/p/2-1-2-Qt-Blue-Pail-with-Handle-0255030/204694319?MERCH=REC--SearchPLPHorizontal1_rr--NA--204694319--N

They cost about a dollar in the paint department of Lowes or Home Depot. He only needed to carry shampoo and soap and deodorant. Those caddies are overkill for men.

I’ll be sending my son off to school with his beloved REI shaving kit (much like the Eagle Creek ones Aunt Bea linked). After he’s been there a while he can order something else on Amazon if he decides that would be more convenient.

sorry, I finally found his kit. It’s less than $10.
He uses it at home as well!

My brother used a shower caddy, but he was in a suite with three other people and walked two steps to the shower.

Parent here, but back in the day a lot of people used gallon plastic buckets. A quart bucket might work as well, but the gallon bucket holds more.

I just bought a basket to use. All I use is shampoo and body wash anyway.

EDIT: My school’s showers have shelf areas to put stuff on, so a caddy is not really necessary as you can just put your stuff on the shelf.

Really?^^^^
Hmmmmmm?

My son’s kit has:
Crew 3 in 1 (combo shampoo/conditioner/body wash)
A comb
Deodorant
Razor with styptic
Toothbrush/paste

So unless each dorm room has an attached bathroom, you’re going to be running back and forth with that caddy.

My S has an electric shaver and hair dryer. He’ll have a mirror in his room to use those, but I imagine he’ll use his basket for the 3 in 1 shampoo/cond/body wash, scrubby thing, toothpaste/brush, comb, hair gel, and deodorant
