Do high school grades count as much or not?

At the Georgetown transfer information session, I asked "What is the average transfer SAT score and High School GPA"

The adcom replied that the average sat was 1360, but there was no average HS GPA because they accept people with all kinds of high school GPAs.

When asked how important high school gpa was, she answered "Yeah, we will look at your high school GPA, but we are really concerned about your college GPA."

Does anyone have any information to counter this?

If you're applying to transfer as a sophomore, high school grades are quite important, since at the time you apply, you have just one college semester under your belt. If you're applying to transfer as a junior, high school grades are less important, since by that point there's a more extensive college record for colleges to evaluate.

WJB, i cant PM you because your box is full. This is what i would have PMed you:

Hey. I am a freshman in college. I go to UMBC in Maryland. I was advised against discussing the disparity in grades by my college consultant, but I am REALLY regreting it now. I also sent a grade projection into GU for this semester with a 4.0 and 16 creds. Please let me know if you need anymore info.
