As a sophomore now (1st year just ended) at a CSU, I have law school in mind for the future. I know that it is MOSTLY a numbers game w/ GPA and LSAT. I really want (and think I have a shot) to transfer to UCLA after this coming year at a community college. This would require completing TAP (I have little chance w/o TAP) which is the honors program. Should I aim for UCLA, do honors which probably would lower my grades for 6 classes, or not risk getting B's in honors courses, take normal courses and go back to San Jose State or UCSD or Santa Clara U., where ever I get accepted to (which wouldn't be as prestigious as UCLA) and have a higher GPA?
Thanks

Go to UCLA. It's better be challenged now rather than be overwhelmed at law school. (Assuming you like UCLA more than the other choices, you'll also have more non-law related opportunities).

If UCLA is what you want, do it and do not change your plans around law school admissions. Don't assume you will not do as well in honors either - aim for As there too - you might be pleasantly surprised.

Just received an email from Foothill saying I need to do 1/2 of honors work by end of Fall which is impossible for me to do. So I'm going to go to De Anza and no honors.

UCLA econ (w/ lesser chance) and Santa Clara Leavey finance/econ are probably going to by my main choices now.

im a ucla econ student right now, and separate honors classes are not any more difficult. in fact, many of the regular econ classes cross over for honors credit
