Do I even have a chance at UT Austin??

So I'm only a junior in high school but i really dont want any surprises next year when i start applying. My dream school is UT Austin for architectural engineering. My second choice is UC at Boulder for the same thing. There aren't alot of schools for architectural engineering and there the best that i know of..

So i guess this is what my resume would look like?
GPA (so far): around 2.8 but junior year just started so i have all this year and next to raise it.
Honors Trigonometry
Band (since 5th grade. Clarinet, trumpet, learning french horn)
Softball
Volleyball
Swim team
Mock Trial
Tutoring children in math

My grades are averagely B's and C's
So what are my chances of getting in? I'm an out of state resident. And what would i have to score on the SAT to improve my chances? And any possible scholarship chances?
And if you can tell me, what do i need to do that will help me? Anything will help!
Thanks!

You’ll never know unless you try. I am a resident of texas and ut isn’t an easy school to get into however, it’s not imposible. I would advise to apply to a less competitive major for example; liberal arts or even the drama department, then once your in transfer to what you want to study. also try to break the 3.0 gpa by the end of this year and take atvantage of programs you high school has to offer for example, a trip abroad or get really involved into a club or a sport to make yourself stand out. i know someone with a 3.0 and an 18 ACT get in but i would think a safe act score world be 27>. Good Luck i hope you get in!
