Do i even stand a chance at getting into UW?

Hi, i'm wondering if i have a chance at this school with my stats.

GPA: 3.4 UW(my school doesn't weight)
Freshmen: 3.45 first semester, 3.78 second semester
Sohpomore: 3.1 first semester( i know, kill me), 3.2 2nd semester(not much better!)
Junior: 3.2 first semester, 3.7 2nd semester
-so my grade was like a loop

-good freshmen year, got lazy screwed up sophomore year, picked up as a junior this year and now im trying to maintain a 3.7 for this semester. I hope to keep 3.7+ for senior year.

Advanced Classes: 1 AP, 1 Honors, 1 Advanced, 1 College class.(this will be the total amount i've taken including senior year).

Extracurriculers:
-3 years of Cross Country
-FBLA officer for sophomore year
-200+ hours of community service(probably get a load more in by next year)

Standardized Tests:
SAT: 1600(not impressive)
ACT: 28

Other:
Ethnicity: asian
In-State
School: Public, top 30 i believe.

So, here are my stats and i am pretty sure my chances at UW are LOW unless i write an amazing life-changing essay but other than that im really worried about it. Does anyone think i can get in? Thanks in advance.

Yes, as you have stated your chances seem pretty low at this point. You just have to bump that GPA to its maximum, get an SAT above 1800 to be safe, and write a genuine essay. Your extracurricular are typical stuff that anyone could do, so to stand out you should participate in more unique activities. Just a mini tip! Good luck!

most important thing is that you don’t apply with the notion that you won’t get accepted, an essay that shows your genuine interest in being a part of this school while answering as much of the guideline questions as well as you can without major grammatical mistakes is important

overall have a positive attitude, i don’t want you going in thinking you don’t have a chance, i think your stats are good, and i think you have great extra curriculars, i don’t know many students with such a huge amount of volunteering, they want you to be well rounded, not just good grades and nothing outside of school

good luck :)

Thanks for the tips, guys! I just needed to see where i am at in the ballpark. I’m just going to do my best for the remainder of my high school years, work on essays and standardized test scores during the summer. Hopefully, my hard work will pay off!

Your ACT seems stronger than your SAT score.
28 on ACT is about 1860 on SAT.

Bump that test score a bit. whichever one that you do better.
I think your application looks solid.
Just get 3.7+ during your senior year and I think you have shot.

As mentioned above, application essays are important. *Optional essay is
not really optional so, do it.

Good luck!
