Hi, I am International, and I am only applying to one college, which is Dartmouth. (cause of my girlfriend...) And Math major

So my stats are

SAT 1: 680CR 800M 700W (1480/2180)

SAT 2: 800 M2 750 BIO E

My gpa: This part is really tricky since my highschool is so focused on British unis, nobody really cares about GPA. (what matters is IB predicts). Although we get grades from 0-100 scale. I have cumulative of exactly 90/100. That gives me about top 15% in class of 50.. (which is tiny!)

But, I do IB diploma, and my predicted are 40/45.. our school average is 32... and I have the highest predicts in graduating class. (sadly, I dont think this gets reported on my transcript).

My EC: AIME qualifier for 3 years in a row.
I am High school president. Captain of varsity football team, and some other small clubs.

Is it even worth applying to Dartmouth with this stat??

Yeah, it’s worth applying. Your CR score is a bit low for being a British international. Your GPA is also a bit low but you are in an IB program so that might be okay (especially since your SAT II are good). Your SAT II are both excellent and your composite SAT is good. Write compelling essays and have great recs, and you definitely have a chance. Good luck.

Don’t follow your girlfriend to college.

What happens second semester when she/you dumps you/her. You will want to get as far away as possible and will be stuck at a school(a excellent one) that you may or may not have really want to go to.
Beyond the girlfriend stuff. Only applying to one school is straight up stupid. What happens may first when you get rejected 9/10 are and you have no where to go

@Cirroalex Thank you!!

@yoskis haha you’re right I guess. But I am applying to only one since I already got few offers from British Unis that I wanted to go, but since my gf’s dream school is Dartmouth, I wanted to see if we could end up in same college too :)
