I currently attend a community college. My stats are not the best, but I’m wondering if I have a shot at my schools I would like to attend. I have a 3.3 GPA and some extracurricular activities (one of which I am currently running as President). I would like to major in Human Development. It’s probably not possible, how about CSULB, CSU San Marcos, and CSU East Bay?

Human development isn’t very competitive. I would suggest playing up your extra curriculars and writing a great essay

Have you looked into TAGs? You can guarantee yourself in if you meet the requiremts. You meet the gpa requirement that is for sure

You’ll get into San Marcos.

I think you’re cutting yourself short, you have a legit shot at davis

what matters the most is the grades you get for your lower division/preparatory courses for human development. Then your overall GPA should be above 3.2.

why not TAG?

As people have said before, you can TAG in. That’s the transfer admission guarantee - last year all you needed was a 3.2 and then you were in for sure.

Even if you miss the TAG deadline, don’t worry. I got in as a transfer with a 3.2, no tag. And for transfer students, they only really look at your gpa. I’m not sure it’s true, but I spoke with a transfer counselor last year who said they were letting pretty much anyone with a 2.8 in. So don’t worry.
