I am currently looking at 3 schools right now and I'd really rather not apply to any others. I know they're selective, but I don't know HOW selective, and I'd really like a safety if they're all reaches, so can I get your opinion?

I have a 3.55 uw GPA (I'm rather lazy with my homework, I'll admit), I'm in the top quarter of my class and early 30s on the ACT. I've got really good extracurriculars (involved in theater--directed a few school plays and wrote a one-act performed freshmen year) and I'm OBSESSED with writing and filmmaking. I've made tons of movies, won some writing competitions, and published some photographs in a magazine. I also might study abroad in Ireland first semester of my senior year. I'm hoping my ECs will make up for my mediocre GPA (there's a 'C' on my transcript...ouch). Also, I'm a writer so hopefully I'll be able to pen a kickass essay.

My 3 schools are NYU - Tisch, Emerson, and Chapman. I'll be applying to all their film production programs. I know NYU is the biiiiiiig reach, but what about the other two?

If the other two are big reaches, does anyone know of a safety I can apply to with a strong film program located in a metropolitan area with a lot of stuff to do? Money isn't too much of a concern.
