I am a high school junior, and I have an average gpa of around 3.5 from freshmen year to sophomore year. This year, I am only taking one ap class and plan on taking two in my Senior year.
Ill basically end high school with three AP classes and no extra curricular activities…
What are my chances of getting into an ok UC? Can I transfer from a community college to increase my chances?
Also, what would you do if you were in my situation?
UC’s will look at your HS course rigor so if your school offers many AP classes and you did take advantage, then this could hurt you. If only a few AP’s are offered, then you should be ok. UC’s are very GPA focused but consider test scores, HS rigor and essays very important in the admission process so these areas can help your chances.
You need to calculate your UC GPA:

Also look at the UC Freshman profiles to see what GPA and test scores to aim for when applying.

Here some UC GPA to help you:
Freshman admits for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79
UCB: 2%
UCLA: 3%
UCSD: 6%
UCD: 11%
UCSB: 13%
UCI: 16%
UCSC: 47%
UCR: 64%
UCM: 80%
Freshman admits with UC GPA if 3.80-4.19
UCB: 12%
UCLA: 14%
UCSD: 39%
UCSB: 49%
UCD: 52%
UCI: 57%
UCSC: 83%
UCR: 90%
UCM: 92%
As you can see, the Higher your UC GPA, the better.
Going to a CC and transferring is another good option. See TAG link:
