So, unfortunately, NYU is my dream school, despite the fact that it's probably a huge reach for me. Anyway, here are my stats.

I'm a white female from California.

GPA: 3.412 (UW), 3.6something (W)

ACT Composite: 28

SAT: 1860

EC's:

Yearbook
Staff member (10)
Business Manager (11)
Co-Editor-in-Chief (12)

Co-Founder of Sat 6 1/2 class

Tennis
10-11, JV then Varsity

Key Club
30 hrs., 10-12

NHS (120

CSF(12)

Piano
6 years

2 yearbook awards (attended yb camp twice)
one award for photo essay
one academic award from 9th grade

Spanish tutoring (july-present)

Part time job august-present

that's all i can think of for now, i'm rushing, haha.

do i have a chance? applying to CAS RD.

EC's lack passion and direction/time commitment.

GPA/SAT at the way lower end.

My stats were higher than yours and I got placed into LSP. Your SAT is really low - mine was 2130 and that's like average, and I got LSP'd. My EC's were also much better. I'm not saying this to be mean, just to give you an honest idea of where you stand.

If NYU is your dream school, why not do ED? financial issues?

If you want to go somewhere I think you should apply.
You're aware it's a reach.

The worst that can happen is you find out you can't go there, which really leaves you no worse off than you are now.

I could apply ED. Should I? Won't I have a way better chance of getting in?

Don't do ED if you're worried about affording NYU - if FA doesn't come through, you'll be in a messy situation.

if money isn't a problem, and you are positive NYU is your #1 (I advise you visit the school if possible) then go for ED. it will help you out a teensy bit. plus if you get in, then you'll know by december.
