Do I have to Contact Cornell myself for interview?

Simple yes or no question.

I didn't; they contacted me. For College of Engineering.

I only had an alumnus interview, but I also never had to set anything up. He called me.

Usually your name is given to the alum chair in your area, who sets up an interview/information session for you. If there are no alumni in your area, or they simply screw up, you may not get notified. Only in this case would you call them to set up an interview, if you really wanted one...they're not required for most schools at Cornell, and many students choose not to have them. It doens't affect your chances one bit.

However, this doesn't apply to schools like Architecture and some others, i foget which exactly...these require special interviews for admission.

Where do you live? I contacted the west coast director for cornell admissions who has promised me to connect me to an alumni here. Heres her email

vvh4@cornell.edu

Hope this is helpful

thanks guys, I live in Central PA, near Harrisburg

so the interview doesn't count right? I can go in there not having showered for a week and in rags and it wouldn't hurt me right?
(this is for college of engeneering)
so it's only for me to ask stuff about cornell, my interviewr won't care about what I say at all?

is this true??

b/c an alumn also contacted me and i already scheduled an interview next week.

so you think that the interview/meeting doesn't affect your chances at all?
the alumn doesn't send a letter or anything to cornell, like a report??

btw, this is also for the college of engineering

so why would cornell send representatives to talk to you then ? Dont be morons and yes interviews are important though they ccant make or break you. THey will help you or destroy you though.

I thought interviews were only for the Hotel and Architecture schools??????

Hotel and Architecture are the only schools that have interviews with admissions officers and professors on-campus. Interviews for the other schools are just with alumni.
