Do I have to proof residency to UF after paying in-state tuition at Broward College?

<p>I’m about to transfer but I have a bit of a weird situation. My husband is a US citizen but he has no Car registration or Voter’s registration, only Driver’s license. To proof residency we used his driver’s license, his unofficial transcript from Miami-Dade college stating that he was classified as a resident and a letter from his employer.</p>

<p>Now I need/want to transfer to UF (I’m about to get my AA). Do I need to send these same documents to them? Or will they take a look at my transcript and just respect that BC classified me correctly and classify me as a Fl resident themselves?
The UF website doesn’t list many supporting documents…and the letter from employer isn’t listed nor is the transcript from another florida institution…
In the online application I’ve only been able to fill in the part of his drivers license.
This is an excerpt I got from the Florida Guidelines for Residency stating that the university I transfer to doesn’t have to reevaluate the classification.</p>

<p>4.4 Transfers from Florida Public Higher Education Institutions
Pursuant to s. 1009.21(11), once a student has been classified as a resident for tuition
purposes, an institution of higher education to which the student transfers is not required to reevaluate the classification unless inconsistent information suggests that an erroneous
classification was made or the student’s situation has changed. However, the student must have attended the institution making the initial classification within the last 12 months and the residency classification must be noted on the transcript.</p>

<p>Hmmm…I’m going to say no. I took classes at Broward CC as a non-degree student. A year and a half later, I applied to FGCU. I really expected to “re-prove” residency because I enrolled at West Virginia University and earned a BA degree. But nope…FGCU did not have me re-verify my FL residency.</p>
