I'm withdrawing from a non-IGETC non-major required class. Do I need to email each UC and tell them this or will it not matter? Also will this affect my chances? I'm applying to a very highly selective major at UCLA, but I have a nearly perfect GPA

I think you need to report them, but since it’s not GE nor pre-req class you will be fine

Definitely report it. You have to provide the UCs with the most up to date information. Give them a call and also update the app.

How much would it affect my chances?

That’s anyone’s guess, but personally, I think if it’s not a required course or a pre-req and you’ll be 60+ units by the end of Spring without it anyway, I don’t think it should affect your chances.

my friend dropped a math class last sp, also not ge or pre-req, she called UCLA before she dropped it and they said once you made update they will review your application again but since it’s not a pre-req class she would be fine, and she’s now suffering at UCLA, so relax, just talk to them before u drop lol

im on the same boat as OP
I might drop a one unit PE class…but I’m afraid ill get rescinded from UCR (already SIR’d)…

^honestly, they’re not likely to revoke your admission because one PE class, but talk to them before you drop is necessary.

It’s a genetics class (4 units) and I’m applying to Human Biology and Society (BA). It’s a brand spanking new major.
