I am thinking about dropping a non-major class, how will this affect my admissions to UCB, UCLA, UCI. I already called ucr and they said it was cool. I really want to call them(B,LA,I) and ask them but I also just want to wait until I get in (if i get in) because already UCB and UCLA are already reaches for me. Does anyone know how they handle W's if they aren't major prereqs?

I have 7 W’s from CCC and have been told I still have a high probability of getting into UCLA and that those W’s will carry little if any weight at all. My gpa is 3.8-3.9. You just gotta nail your gpa and have a solid excuse for the W’s if it even comes up.

@back2it Yea I already know that W’s dont have to much weight. But ill rephase my question. Lets say I get into I,LA and Berk and I get a W, whats the possibility of them being like “Oh this guy got a W we don’t want him anymore”

I asked Berkeley this question last month. Since it’s a little too late to notify them now, they did say that if you are admitted you can immediately tell the academic/admission (whatever lol) advisor assigned to you and notify them about the class you will drop. I hope the class is not related to major prep, unit counts, or IGETC fulfillment though.

I would advise calling them though about this question…

I might drop a course and was planning on doing what @ocnative posted above. Just notify the transfer person assigned to you. I did that so far with UCR, and they didn’t care. I will advise contacting them before you drop it though. I am waiting to drop it until every school I get into says its okay. My cc has a late drop date though.

if it is not ur major pre-req and u won’t go below 60 units, it won’t affect ur admission…asked UCSD before
