Hello everybody,
i'm currently attending a community college, and my plans were to transfer to a state university. I finally figured out what i want to major, and that's advertising. My question is do i have to transfer from the community college (and finish all the requirement courses) before i can enroll in a different school? I know the question is yes if i wanted to transfer to a state university or UC but i want to enroll in an art school. Basically i have to finish algebra 2 and either pre-calculus or statistics before i can transfer but i figure that instead of wasting semesters at the community college taking those classes can i just enroll in an art school that doesn't require math? Something similar to those technical school where you can enroll right off high school to the major of your choice, but an art school that is actually a good school and can get my bachelors.
Thanks

You need to contact the admissions offices of each of the schools that you are interested in and ask them what you should do. Some may advise you to complete your general education requirements where you are, some may advise you to complete a full A.A. degree, some may tell you you can start second semester. Chances are that each school will have a completely different set of requirements.

Because you have some college level credits from an accredited community college, you would be classified as a transfer applicant at any accredited college or university in the USA. What any one individual school is going to do with your community college credits is entirely up to them.
