Do I have to wait another year to transfer to a UC?

Due to family issues I am no longer able to complete my units/classes for the Fall 2013 semester. I plan to take 15 units in the Spring 2014. Those 15 units will leave me with a completed IGETC and completed lower division requirements. I will still be 9 units short of 60 at the end of the Spring semester. I know that that is when the 60 must be done.

Can I apply as a lower division transfer and finish the 9 units over the summer before transfer (if accepted)?

OR

Can I apply for the winter 2014 quarter? (Since I won't be taking any classes at my CCC in the fall that would conflict with it.)

OR

For reference, I want to attend UC Riverside for Sociology.

you should apply just to make sure. we don’t have all of the answers here

If you don’t have 60 UC transferable units by the end of Spring, I think your chances are next to nothing. Sorry

I recommend that you e-mail the admissions department at UC Riverside. They will tell you if you can reply. I actually have heard of students transferring after their first year to both UC Santa Cruz and UC Davis. I think there is a good chance that Riverside will say yes.
