<p>They rarely ask questions directly about vocab (unlike the SAT). The English section is more about grammar and fixing paragraphs. The Reading questions are comprehension/analysis stuff.</p>
<p>Yeah...the ACT doesn't have any vocab questions.</p>

<p>im a soph as well. i started prepping a couple weeks ago and took my first practice test this weekend, 32 composite.
my only problem tends to be staying focused for three hours. by the end of it, i was losing my mind.</p>
<p>I don't think you need it for the ACT. Doesn't hurt to have a solid vocab regardless, but not necessary for the ACT.</p>
<p>Yeah, you don't need vocab for the ACT. Just get a prep book (Princeton Review is really good) and memorize the grammar rules the ACT tests. I don't have an exceptional vocabulary but I know the rules backwards and forwards, so I got a 36 on the English.</p>
