How are you doing in those classes? Do you have straight As or are Bs frequent? Are you improving? I need more info. I can see that your strengths aren’t in English, so what subject/field are you leaning towards that might influence your major? Looking at classes and ECs (aim for a leadership position) you have lots of potential. Once you give some more info, I can think of some colleges for you. Btw my chance post is somewhere in this section too.

Generally, I make straight A’s, usually in the 93-96 range (My maths, sciences, and surprisingly, my histories). There is the occasional “B,”(English, that one time in math class) but I am pretty consistent in my grades. I feel myself leaning more heavily towards the science side of my education, looking into some sort of science-related degree in the future(pre-med, medicinal chemist, pharmacist). My science, along with my math, classes come more easily and thats where I think I should aim. My english isn’t the best, but weirdly enough, when it comes to standardized tests(the STAAR in Texas) I always score the highest out of my classmates on the English and Writing portions.

Thanks for responding, and I’ll chance you back right now!

Let me get this straight, you are a rising high school junior and you want us to comment on your chances at some unnamed list of schools.

Focus on your junior year grades and do as well as possible in you classes and on your SAT/ACT exams. Get back with us next year with a college list and your GPA and those test scores.

The list from the poster above is funny without any information. You will get into cornell, georgetown and Rice, but Amherst and MIT are reaches. lol

You’re taking very impressive classes, so you definitely have that going for you! In terms of ECs, maybe you could try to get some kind of academic clubs (such as Honor Societies) or service clubs (Key Club or some kind of local outreach program). For your test scores, once you start making a college list find out how many schools actually require both ACT and SAT. Personally, I would recommend focusing on one of these tests and starting testing early on in your junior year. Best of luck!
