I think people should embrace imperfection.

i hate questions like this.

i think my 720 is much more legitimate to depress me, yet i'm not in your depression.

I was pretty depressed about my 720 math on the SATI. So sad....

I'm pretty depressed by my 680 math on the SATI. I missed 120 points on the SATI overall... leave it to math to kill me every time. I'm hoping they realize I'm an english person.

i'm pretty depressed about these hundreds of points that i lost...if you add up all my sat i/ii.

A 790? How dare you browse the Yale board with such a pitiable score?! Your mother would be ashamed of you!

Indeed .

Seriously, I got a 760 and there is no way I'm retaking it...

760!?!?! And you think you'll be going to college?

Fool.

Go away. You're why CC sucks. Smart enough to get a 790, but not smart enough to see that 10 points will not break you. What was the purpose of this thread other than to masturbate your anxiety towards the admissions process all over the screen? Or were you just trying to prove that standardized testing measures nothing?

well let's give the OP what he/she wants. 790? Retake it right now. Anything less than 800 is NOT acceptable. Go home and start studying for chem RIGHT NOW. 790? You're disgracing the whole Yale applicant pool. Seriously if you want some honor, then start studying!

why don't people just answer upfront and correctly? Maybe the OP doesn't lurk around CC like the rest of us 24/7 and know or realize the difference between an 800 and a 790. When I first read this, I was furious and refused to answer because the question seemed so obvious. But, the more I thought about it, it only seemed obvious b/c I've been here for so long. If someone asked what the highest possible score on the ACT or SAT was, then CCers would have responded without harsh comments...showing that they are compassionate and understanding toward those who don't live on CC. I don't understand why everyone has to be so harsh to the OP...

Every Indian friend i know got freaking 800 on everything my parents were after my life .Being 790 u see is not deemed enough when u have fu*king 800 scorers
all around you.
All the same it seems 10 points is less beneficial the some leadership position
So now i will work my as off sucking up to headmaster and running after ECs

"less than 800 is NOT acceptable"
I can wait to see wether this turns out to be true
It wont surprise me if it does why does every indian need to get 800 as if compettion in the indian applicant pool is'nt enough

I'm from India, and my SAT 2's were M-780 C-750 P-780. My friend whose applying to Stanford got 780, 760, 760. He isn't complaining and neither am I. As long as you achieve within a certain range 10 points this way or that won't matter.

The OP shud read the stanford rejection case highlighted at the college admissions forum to get what its like to be near imperfect and trsive for the deadly 10 point jump...

SM

If I were the admissions officer and saw that someone with a 790 retook the exam, I'd cringe and reject.

personally.....i think you should take it again. and if you don't get an 840 on it you should cry. a lot.

a 790 is fine. really, it is. don't give the collegeboard anymore money for 10 points that don't really matter.

"Do I need to improve 790 Chemistry for yale "

---you should be slapped. what a dumb question.
