do i stand a chance at these elites?

<p>What are my chances if i apply ED and raise my SAT to over 2000?</p>

<p>Are my ECs good so far?</p>

<p>Would an awesome essay/recs potentially be the determining factor in my case or am i a semi-solid applicant if i raise SAT scores?</p>

<p>I am going to be a junior next year in high school and I was wondering whether or not I'd have a chance at JHU. Yes, I know it's kinda early to get deeply into the college search, but I'd still like to know what you guys think.</p>

<p>Attend public school in southern/central PA; rarely sends any students to top schools
Multicultural American citizen [Vietnamese/Chinese] and I speak Chinese, parents have no college ed. mom-high school, dad-no high school
-Take most rigorous curriculum at school
-Unweighted GPA: 4.0
-Weighted GPA: 4.37 [sophomore gpa]
-Rank: 2/306. would be 1st in class w/o a special exceptions made for 1st student. rank will hopefully rise at end of jr. yr.</p>

<p>PSAT scores taken during beginning of sophomore yr.
64 CR. 63 MATH. 61 WR. total 1880. want to get over 2000. ***feasible?
AP courses not permitted until jr. yr. and no science AP's at my school

<p>PSATs are usually a fair indicator of what your SAT score will be. In that regard it's not looking good at all. I really don't like to recommend studying for the ACT/SAT, but if you want a remote shot: you're gonna have to.</p>

<p>It's not too early to begin your college search....this is the right time for you. Based on your PSAT score, I wouldn't be surprised that you score over 2000 but under 2100 on your SAT (I've known several people who've done that). But work on your SAT. Seems like you have good "plans," but you'd better make them reality b/c your senior year is gonna come by really fast, trustme.</p>
