I really need your advice right now.
My major is Biochemistry. I got an "F" for my Art class. This class is for IGETC requirement. I retook this class already and got an "A". I wonder if I still have any chance to get accepted into University of California ( I'm planning to apply to UCLA, UC Davis, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Barbara, ....). This is the first time i got F. I got "A" and "B" on all my other classes ( included major requirement and IGETC requirement ). Even though i retook it and got "A", does this F look really bad on my record? I'm really worried right now. My current cumulative GPA is 3.70. But i'm really depressed about how the "F" which is still shown in my record affect my opportunity to transfer to UC .
What should I do now? Should I write an additional comment when I fill out the application to explain about this bad grade, or should I explain it in Prompt #2 personal statement?
I neglected the Art class, did not attend the class often. I was taking Art, Biology, Chemistry and Calculus 3. I also worked and participated in so many volunteer clubs at school at that time. I was so stressed out. However, it is still my fault. I thought I could make it but it turned out I could not.
Please give me some advice or any experience that you guys have been through.
Thank you so much!

Don’t worry about it, the UC’s will only look at the repeated grade.

I was admitted into UCSD today with 3 Ws and and a F that I retook for an A. So yes it can be done.

3.7? Don’t even worry, you will get into at least most of your choices.
