Do ivy league schools really consider year 9 and 10 grades

I didn't do that well on my IGCSE exams (3A*3A1B) and I was wondering will they really stress upon these grades when looking at my application?!

You’re asking two questions, seemingly. Your title asks whether 9th and 10th grades will be considered, but then your text asks whether they will “stress upon them.” The answers to your question are, respectively, yes and no. Your entire high school record will be considered, but schools will not weigh your 9th and 10th grade grades with more “stress upon them” than your 11th and 12th grade grades. Obviously, students who do better in the later years have a better chance than those who get off to a quick start and then falter later on.

That said, as others have pointed out, Harvard, as an example, admits students with an average high school GPA of over 3.9. That’s the AVERAGE GPA. Lots of students admitted to Harvard have 4.0s. So, there’s very, very little room for error in four years of high school.

Yes. You posted this for Harvard and you need to remember the competition. But as a new poster, we know nothing about your real strengths. Learn as much as you can about what your target colleges look for and match yourself wisely, with that knowledge. We don’t know your overall performance and activities.
