do people on collegeconfidential generally have higher stats?

do people who use collegeconfidential and those who post their statuses generally have higher Gpas and SATs than most other people? I have a feeling they do

Yes. Most students who post here (but not all!) are really not typical in their test scores and GPAs. However, if you go to school-specific boards, like state universities and less selective privates, you’ll find more students with typical stats. You’ll probably also often find less traffic (fewer posts) since College Confidential seems to hold more appeal for high-achiever types. I know a lot of more typical students who just wouldn’t find this place even remotely interesting.

Yea, I don’t understand why typical people like myself visit this forums. >.< When I’m at school, I feel average (A little bit above average). Then I come home, log on collegeconfidential and I feel like a ■■■■■■ looking at all these smart people post. :(

Some people here lie about their stats, but for the most part CCers are a pretty high achieving group.

well we are pretty self selecting. And this entire website (well a hefty majority) is geared to academics so I’d say that many ccers are quite impressive scholars.

Well, I do go to a competitive school, where these stats seem normal, but I’m guessing in general, CCers have much higher stats than the rest of the normal people.

Most of the people here work hard at getting into a good college, so on the average students will be better. Many of the students with poor stats don’t care that much about school, and so they aren’t on here. I’m not saying that if you don’t have perfect stats you don’t work hard, but this does hold fairly true.
