Do Schools Always Mail Package to Accepted Students? (question for oldtimers)

wondering if those who have gone through this before can shed some light on this question-
did all of the schools that accepted you send a package via Fed Ex / UPS etc. to coincide on M10? Did some of you receive acceptances without receiving a package?

Sometimes you’ll get an online notification and the package comes days later. Don’t necessarily expect something in your mailbox on M10 depending on the school - for both acceptances and non-acceptances.

No - not all schools sent mail or packages with decisions. Some send email with decisions. Some do both - email and send a package, some send a package or letter - which they try to have arrive on M10, but we were told some local day schools mail on M10. Also, most FA comes in a letter, but sometimes schools will give you some info in an email.

Most schools send fat packages to accepted students. They vary considerably on method and timing.

I posted details here last year for Hotchkiss, Taft, Andover, Deerfield, Exeter, Choate and Lville. My old post has details on how and when the mailings are sent out.

I remember that Andover sends out acceptances via FedEx on M9. The labels are printed on M8 and can be detected online if you have a FedEx.com account.

I think now Andover posts decisions online on M10 as well. Those admitted can also expect their admission packet in fedex on M10.

We got snail mail packages from the schools that admitted the kids on 10 March. We also could check the websites that day. I don’t remember the exact timing, but I do know that the final school was the last to notify. We got e-mails for the DOA.

is DOA - dead on arrival?

In 2012 and 2013, St. Andrew’s sent snail mail that arrived on March 9 at many locations, and March 10 at others. I believe there is also email notification now. Tad Roach is a fan of the physical letter, a small marker for us that we had a good fit.
