Do schools ever contact accepted applicants before March?

Was wondering.......

sure they do–but don’t read too much into it.

they do unoffically if like you are an athlete they can promise a spot but they can rescind it if like you fail to keep your grades up

Admissions counselors meet admissions officers during the quiet time and could tell you accepted/not accepted earlier than March 10th.

dunno. usually if they’re real interested in you, i guess they call you or mail you for some info.

idk if its official… but do calls from coaches and admission ppl count

They are not supposed to between Feb 10 and March 10th, even coaches but sometimes it happens.

lol lol i dont think soo

coaches told me to stay in contact…
for example one of the hades school told me nd another friendd taht we are in the top 5 for our sports, and they said as long as our grades and ssat scores are fine (which are) we have no need to worry.

BUT I AM PROBAB WRONG
this site is the blind leading the blind

I got an email from the track coach at a HADES school with a track questionnaire. Did anyone elso get something like this? Do you think this means that the school is looking for track recruits? She also said that she was looking forward to hearing from me and that I could ask her any questions. I don’t think this is at all special, it was nothing compared to what you got jyun, but what do y’all think?

lol at blind leading the blind. :D

Last year in February, don’t remember the exact date but I recall it being in mid February, my daughter received a call from a student at Exeter asking if she had any questions about the school etc. We thought the call was a sign that she would be accepted…she was not.

At the begining of March we received an email from a school saying she was being considered for a merit scholarship, she was accepted to the school and received the scholarship.

Also, in March we received calls from two top tier schools asking for more information about our request for FA. She was accepted to both schools.

I wouldn’t read much into contact from coaches and students right now, but if they want you to clarify a FA request in March, I think that is a good sign.

@hoping

dont worry some of my friends got accepted at HADES school without a single call from the school and still got full financial aid

nd also my letters never said i was ACCEPTED but rather THEY ARE REALLY INTERESTED. and then theres alot of talk about hope u come play here blahblah thats just talk

I don’t think we need to be worrying about any decisions before march 10th…idk about you but waiting for march 10th seems enough worrying :)

The ISL will enter a month-long “quiet period” on February 10th. The thread above, from last year, is worth reading.

That is a relief as cc would enter a temporary chaos if a person on here were to get “pre-accepted” if that’s an appropriate expression, I know must of us wouldn’t be able to sleep with fear that we aren’t good enough. CCers seem to be prone to anxiety and paranoia…or maybe it’s just me ;)

I got the same email. I wouldn’t read too much into it- I think she sent it to everyone who put track and field as an interest when filling out the inquiry form.

hmmmi thinku shouldcall the coaches thats what i did, nd most said

illdoeverything in my power to get help u with admission

Applying EA gives you an option of seeing how you fair w/o committment. ED seals your fate but if FA are concerns it’s a “roll of the dice”. Of course, both options place the admissions odds in your favor, when compared to RD. The best option will depend on family circumstances (and how much of a true match/safety your ED school is).

We were contacted by parents of students going to MX before March. They wanted to know if we had any questions about the school and wanted our thoughts about it.

Ummm i think you have the wrong forum nylecoj007. boarding schools don’t have EA or ED
