I don’t if I should retake the SAT in January. Some colleges that I am applying to have a February 1 “score due in admissions” deadline. Even if I rush score the SAT, I don’t think it will make it time?
The test scores will not be sent until after Feb 1. As to being accepted by the college for use in determining admission, It depends on college and you likely should contact the ones you are referring to if you are not sure from the info provided. Also be aware that rushing a score is not the fastest form of delivery. That honor goes to listing the college in your test registration as one to automatically receive scores upon release, which results in your sending the scores before knowing what they are. Most often, when the college is identified as one to receive scores in your test registration, the scores are sent on, or up to two business days before, the date the scores are released to you online. Also be aware that a number of colleges state they do not want rushed scores.
It depends on the school. You should look at their website for the latest acceptable score. Also, you likely need to sent the score before seeing it even if they do accept it.
I can’t find it on the website of when is that latest acceptable score date. It just says February 1 “score due in admissions” deadline. If scores won’t be sent until after Feb, then isn’t that a clear indicator that they won’t accept it then?
Today is the last day to register for the January SAT late so I can’t really contact any schools. I got a 1660 so I probably should retake(though I am just applying to colleges with around 35-60% acceptance rate). There is always a chance that I get a lower score and I don’t really want to waste my time if colleges won’t accept it anyways. Do I really have to send the scores before seeing it? If it is going to be late anyways, then being late just a couple extra days shouldn’t matter?
I already sent the 1660 to most of the schools that I will be applying to just in case.
