Do some colleges not need mid-year reports?

I just finished my first semester and am ready to submit my mid-year report stuff. But when I went to my applications, only a couple of my schools gave me a form for the mid-year reports. Just wondering if I'm missing something here.

If you apply to CommonApp schools, they most likely expect you to use the CommonApp forms.

That's the thing, I only have 1 school that takes the common app, and it doesn't offer me a midyear report form in its application forms either.

A midyear report is usually just the transcript. Does the school ask for it ont he website?

Which schools are you talking about?

I applied to Notre Dame, UMich, Columbia, Maryland, and NYU. Of the 5, only Notre Dame and Columbia gave me forms for the midyear report. They all asked for transcripts though, but that doesn't have my first semester grades on them so I'm a little confused.

I know some don't for Early Decision students. My friend got into NYU CAS ED and he doesn't have to file a midyear report.

Hmmmm.... some schools will revoke their offer of admission to those they accepted ED b/c of bad 1st semester grades...

From what I understand, you'd have to be getting D's or worse to have your admission rescinded, and in most cases you'll get a warning from the school. They're not going to want to rescind you, because a) it'll eff up your future (you've withdrawn all other apps) and b) they'll need to replace you.

That's just what I've been told by guidance counselors and word-of-mouth. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think 2 Cs give you a big warning and a D might cut it. but it depends on what class it's in. A C in AP Physics for example, won't do anything, but a C in Intro to Cooking might.

Not all schools require mid-year reports. None of my d's required them. If any of your schools have online status checks you would be able to see there if any of your credentials are missing.
