Hi, what I wanted to know was whether Rutgers looked at the writing section of the SAT.

The thing is these are my scores for everytime i took the test.

1st
Critical Reading 470
Math 570
Writing 470

2nd
Critical Reading 500
Math 550
Writing 630

3rd
Critical Reading 500
Math 590
Writing 480

As you can see I did better on the math in the 3rd time but did a lot worse on the writing. I didn't send my 3rd scores but i sent my first and second. I still haven't gotten a decision. I'm really worried and wanted to know whether the writing section would help me or whether I should send my 3rd scores also because my math went up 20 points from the first time I took it and 40 from 2nd time. Do you guys think it can get there and they'll see it by the 28th when they make the decision? And will submitting it help or hurt me? Also my updated mid-year GPA is 3.23 which i sent to them. What are the chances that I'll get in? Thanks.

im not sure if they look at the writing, last i heard of was that they didnt but that was as of last year i believe.

either way, even if they do, they only look at the best scores. like if you got your best in math your third time, best in writing your fifth time and best in reading your first time, those are the ones theyll look at.. not only your last time or your frist time

Thanks for the fast reply. The thing is I thought it would help me because i did 150 points better than my previous best score. Now I thought maybe they would think I got lucky. I guess the best thing to do would be to submit it. Was afraid to submit it before. You guys think it'll get there and they'll see it by Thursday for their decision? Also, what do you thing my chances are of admission into the New Brunswick school Arts and Sciences campus? Thanks again.

Well I got my response. I didn't get into the New Brunswick but I got into Newark. I'm most likely going. Denied from one but at least I got into another. I heard this year it got harder getting in.
