Do they review applications by department?

I was wondering if any of you knew if penn state reviewed and sent out applications by department (i.e business, then science, etc). Ive seen some people who applied and then 2 or 3 weeks later they were notified of the decision and some who applied months ago and have not recieved word on the status of their application.

Son first was accepted into the college, then schreyers, then accepted by his department.

They have told me that it doesn't matter whether you apply August 1st or November 1st because they did not start reviewing applications before November 15th. Everyone has an equal advantage of getting in and when they will get there letter.

I emailed the admissions office 3 days ago, and they said they haven't started reviewing Business, Architecture, or Nursing yet.

I think they do undecided first, then go into the specific schools.

no wonder why...i havent really gotten any change in status....I've been worrying. Phew that relieves me.

When do they plan on reviewing Business anyway?

Well they told me they weren't starting reviews on applications until November 10th, so after that day until, I would assume, December 15th, they will probably do undecided majors and then after that do the remaining. I've always heard applying DUS helps for PSU, guess thats why.

I did undecided but my status still hasnt changed and I know ppl who did engineering and theyve already been accepted...

so they have yet to begin reviewing business school apps?? err this is frustrating

^ i so agree

they apparently now have started reviewing business apps since a got my acceptance letter for smeal today

when did you apply?

and what were your stats?

I applied Nov 30th. Hoping for a decision soon.

i applied 10/3.
And 2280, 4.3 weighted, in state

aww you are lucky CONGRATS. I'm assuming it was a safety?

yes it was, but it's the first school i've been accepted at and it feels good to know i have somewhere to go next year!
