Do UCs accept C's?

So I’m a junior in high school , and I’m so S-T-R-E-S-S-E-D about my grades. On the first semester of my junior year I got two C’s and as of right now, I’m trying to bring them up. On my freshman year I had one C for first semester but raised to an A on second semester.

My dream is either to go to UCLA , UC Davis , or UC Santa Barbara. If I can’t get into those schools than I REALLY want to get into a UC. I have no hopes for the SAT , I know for sure that I won’t get more than 1800. My G.P.A is a 3.6 (non-weighted). My rank right now is 38 and i’m in the top 10%.
Right now my only life saver is my personal statement.
Should I be worried? I need help (and comfort) !

Dont worry, you got this! The UC’s do accept C’s but do not make it repetitive. Try to aim for the 50th percentile of SAT for each university. For example, for UCLA it is around 2000 for APPLICANTS and 2100 for ADMITS. Your gpa is on the low end (especially for UCLA) but still have hope, they still accept a fairly significant number of applicants from that range (2014 fall admission statistics: 1356/25860 students got admitted who had a 3.30-3.69 GPA) Also remember that they also factor in your entire EC activities. Write a phenomenal personal statement to win them over…Good luck for us!

They’re okay with C’s, but get those grades up! Work hard and make sure to keep that upward trend moving. Also don’t drain your hopes about the SAT. I’m gathering that at this point you’ve taken the PSAT and the SAT once. Even if you got within the range of 1800ish, do NOT let that prevent you from going up. You can easily study to work your score up.
