We filed the FAFSA on 1/1/05 and received the SAR on 1/3 ( which is also the "processed date"). D then discovered one school had an earlier date required for FAFSA submission than others, but she had not listed it in the original 6. D deleted the original 6 schools and added others including the one with the early deadline. This was processed on 1/8/05, which I think is the same day as she made the changes. Today (1/13) I had occasion to contact a fin. aid office of one of the original 6 and they have not received our FAFSA. D insisted on deleting all of the first 6 when she added schools, saying that they would receive the info twice if she didn't. I am not sure now if the original 6 (or the second batch of schools) have or will receive what they need. Both transactions show on her SAR transaction page, which should include all the schools D has listed. Do we need to do anything else? I inquired on the financial aid forum before I found out one of the original 6 hadn't received it, but I couldn't understand exactly what I was being told. Can anyone help? Thanks

Has anyone else had experience with this, please?

If any uncertainty exists, it is always a good idea to call. Oberlin requires both the FAFSA and CSS. We did the FAFSA which yeilded an EFC of over $75k, so clearly need based aid was not possible. I called the Oberlin finaid and adcom offices and asked them if our son could pass on the CSS which would have involved a small fee. They said it would not be necessary to submit.

A phone call is far better than email too.

I called today re: adding more schools and was told that once I received the confirmation for the SAR, I could delete those schools and add others. The woman told me that the schools that we originally had on there would still be able to access the SAR. The only reason we would have to add those schools back on would be if we made any other corrections later on (such as financial) in which case we would have to make sure that all the schools were listed again.

Forgot to mention that you were issued a DRN (data release number??) which I believe allows those schools access to the SAR, if I understand it correctly. (This is my first experience with the FAFSA.)
