My three final choices were Holy Cross, UConn, and UVM. I chose UVM. I'm going for a Bio degree and I want to go into research or some other work in the field so I will be going to grad school. I chose UVM because of Burlington, student organizations, and stuff to do. It has a strong science program so if I get a high GPA and get involved in some research I don't think it will matter much for grad school or career opportunities that it is less "prestigious" than UConn and Holy Cross. Do you guy think I'm crazy? Holy Cross is obviously a fabulous school, so am I stupid to pass it up? I got a lot of merit to UVM so it's only 33k and I got 12k to UConn. Although those certainly were factors if I wanted to go to Holy Cross I am lucky enough that my parents would have dished out the 58k.

You made the right choice. UVM is a good school.Do well next four years and you’ll have many options.

Nice, thanks for the reassurance. I can’t wait to be in Vermont next year. It’s such an awesome and beautiful place…much better than Worcester haha.

UVM is a fine school in a great town. Have fun in Burlington for the next four years.

You made a great choice - enjoy UVM and Burlington.

It’s a fine choice and you are saving money to put towards a graduate program. You have already analyzed this decision completely.
So stop thinking about it. Start looking forward to your future!

Burlington is a great college town. I still have fond memories of the summers I spent working at a camp a few miles away on Lake Champlain. You are going to get a great education at a fine school in a really fun college town all while saving money for your next step in life. Congratulations!

Thank you everyone
