i got a mac pro 15 incher too. but my HS doesnt allow students to bring their laptops to school. its some crap about distracting other students with your flashy gadgets. so unfortunately i have to keep it at my home and go to HS without it.

Not allowed to bring laptops/electronic devices/anything made in the 21st century to school.

good thing that i was made in the 20th century, else i wouldnt have to bring myself too!!

At my school, we used to be strictly forbidden from having personal laptops in school without written permission from the principal, your parents, and a guidance counselor. Then, over the summer, the eighth graders were all given laptops from the school and were told to bring them to school every day.

Now the high schoolers bring their laptops because if eighth graders are allowed to have them in the same school, we believe ourselves to be allowed to have ours. My APES teacher lets us use them for some things, my women’s studies teacher has us use them sometimes if we have them, and if you’re a senior in directed study, sometimes the classroom you’re in doesn’t have computers so if you want to use one, you either have to bring your own or go to the library.

I bring mine to school occasionally but not often. I’m afraid that I’m going to forget it’s in my backpack and drop it or something.

It used to be laptops were prohibited. This year everyone in 5th-12th grade got issued a Dell laptop which we bring to all our classes. I personally love it because now I can actually work on a paper during study hall without having to get a pass to the library. Our Modern World History teacher makes us do “Today in History” and we have to write a paragraph every week. It’s so much easier now that I have a laptop with me.

Unfortunately, all the fun sites are blocked on our laptops. Even yahoo answers and google translate are banned.
