oh i know my AP gov teacher hates me. she made us do a discussion on the gender gap in voting and i asked why hermaphrodites weren't taken into account (a perfectly sensible question btw). she got mad at that i guess. or maybe it was when i said george bush doesn't care about black people...idn i think there's a lot of reasons.

By the way, I got a 100 on the French test that I was going to be given a 0 for. I studied extra hard for it to redeem myself. Many of the grades were on the low side, so It felt truly awesome to see my teacher have to say "nice job" on the test. Of course, the kid with the highest French average got a 104 (the highest grade), stealing some of my "glory." I didn't care though because everyone knows he's a genius in French class. Him taking French is like me, an English-speaker, taking ESL.

yup. i think at least 3 teachers every year hate my guts.

I think its cuse they never see me do any work in class (even though i work my butt off at home studying) and when i get good grades they get POed.

High school's been hard that way for me...

to all those perfect kiddos whose teachers love them, you have no idea how good it is for you.
being in a room with an authority figure you KNOW hates you....that's rough.

My choir teacher hated me because I refused to kiss her ***. I never got into the musical or the select choir groups despite the fact that I sang better than almost all of the kids in them and she was constantly yelling at me in front of everyone even though I never did anything wrong. God I hate that woman.

I suspect that my math teacher dislikes me and I honestly don't know why... it's not like I'm obnoxious or rude or anything. On the contrary, I barely say anything in that class. Maybe that's why? But does it really make sense for a teacher to dislike a student for being shy? It's not like we have a ton of in-depth discussions in Statistics....

Oh well, at least math is objective and he can't mark me down if I get the answer right... ultimately it's more important to be liked by teachers in the more subjective subjects (English mainly, and I guess art if you take it).

Raychul07, I don't think teachers should dislike students for being shy, but it can be hard to gauge students' level of understanding if they don't participate in class. I'm a shy student too, and this is the feeling I sometimes get from my teachers in class when no one raises their hand (of course, that may be just me feeling guilty for not participating).

This is much less likely, but sometimes I feel bad for not participating because it feels like I'm just in class soaking up the knowledge but not contributing anything of my own, making it an unfair exchange. I think this is just me being downright silly and paranoid, though.

Good point.

It is odd, though, how I am hated, or perhaps judged harshly, by many, if it not all of my teachers.
The other day, we were playing badminton in gym, and as usual, I was pwning it up (6-0 game won in <15 seconds :D). Then, we played on a four man team, and I accidentally hit my teammate's arm. My gym teacher walks over, takes a look at the bat, and suspends me from the game (I needed a break from pwning n00bz so much. :D).

On the other hand, I think my math teacher gives me 100s without even looking at my papers. Apparently, he hates me so much that he doesn't even want to look at my papers. I'm fine with it. :)

Haha. That reminded me of this Korean foreign exchange student who always got 100s on everything until it got to a point in the year where the math teacher just used her test as the answer sheet.

My teachers for some strange reason like me. I don't do anything for them to. They just do.

Demeter: Yeah, it's true that teachers may feel like you're disengaged from the class if you never participate (and the fact that I think I bombed a test in Stats today definitely won't help me clear up that misconception). I should probably try to work on talking in that class more to show that I am actually interested and I want to learn.

And btw, I can totally relate to what you said about feeling guilty for not raising your hand: I'm not trying to sound like a show-off, but pretty much the only time I ever participate in most of my classes (English being the one exception) is when no one knows an answer and the teacher gets a really worried look on his/her face because he/she thinks that no one gets it...

Haha, I'm the same way with answering questions. I feel kind of guilty and bad for the teacher when he or she asks a question and the whole class is just silent.

My 8th grade math and social studies teacher (it was a VERY small school) HATED me because I supported the troops in Iraq and he didn't. After my brother-in-law died over there he went on a rant about how the soldiers were killers and I got up and started screaming in his face about how somebody I loved very much gave up his life so that he could have the right to say whatever he pleased. I screamed at him for 10 minutes straight and after I got done my whole class got up and started cheering for me. He quit the next week. ^__^

in history last year, my test handwriting was so bad on the essays and short answers she would write "I CAN NOT READ THIS!" but she would just give me a 100 on the essays since she saw i circled the right choices on the multiple choice....same with math...i just load the page with random work (not always problem relevant) and he only takes -1 or -2 for a completely wrong answer on a 15 pt prob

my band teacher gave me ISS for telling her that she was directing the song to fast. everyone hates her. good thing I will be in symphonic band next year and won't have to deal with her.

Haha I have many...

P.S. Izzybella, was there a need to be so combative lol, didn't you feel bad that you were yelling at an elder in front of other students? So what if he was misguided, you should have just told him that political rants were not appropriate for the classroom

My AP English teacher hates me because I lack a personality. Well actually I find solace in not doing voices, talking about shows on the lines of "I Love New York" and actually a dedicated student to the art of rhetoric (a concept I feel I know more about than here). I however am a favorite among the classical approach teachers. Teachers who are rooted in the belief that school is only for education.

i don't think any of my teachers like me

my bio teacher probably doesn't like me cause i go get food every day before class, so i come like 10 minutes late but with a bunch of food
my APUSH teacher doesn't like me because i have him first period and i always come half an hour late
my english teacher hates me because i wrote an essay about how his class is boring
my AP Computer Science teacher doesn't like me because i'm the only one that talks in his class
my painting teacher.. ok i guess that doesnt really count cause we just draw in that class
my math teacher definitley does not like me. i sit on the floor and do my homework with my friend during class. he can't really do anything though, cause i'm a beeyotchh and its easier for him to just move on with class.

My experience 3 Kids times 21 classes each equals 63 data points. I NEVER found a problem with the teacher vrs the Kids, rather it was the other way around. I think kids for whatever reason endup not liking some teacher's and then they create all sorts of stories about that mean old ogre and how the teacher doesn't like them.

Wait until they start working if they think that's a popularity contest.

you know what's worse? when teachers that dont like you gossip with other teachers who are apathetic towards you and then THOSE teachers start hating you too.

^ amen to that
